Oribe Intercoiffure Visionary Award
Oribe stole the show at Intercoiffure this October.  After his awe inspiring show featuring magnificent hair designs, Oribe was presented with the ICA’s Visionaire Award by special guest Sarah Jessica Parker (a long time supporter of Oribe).  Congratulations to Oribe and his many years dedicated to hair styling!

10.31.11 - Gary Patrick Salon celebrated Halloween with an inspiration class taught by Oribe Hair Care Educator Ronnie Stam.  The class included a great lecture and demo on an Oribe signature cut “The Unstructed Bob”. Oribe Atelier
9.27.11 The Oribe Haircare Team held an exclusive Atelier event at Dogpatch Studios in San Francisco.  This event was attended by Gary Patrick Salon team members Heather, Jessica, and Lori as well as our owner Gary Gemma.  The Atelier was hosted by Oribe himself and consisted of an editorial demonstration with inspiration from, ‘Market Street and Donald Trump’. The Collection – San Francisco Bay Area Fashion Network
Saturday August 27th a team of Gary Patrick Salon stylist collaborated with Umbrella Salon to create the looks for the 1st annual Collection Fashion Show.   The proceeds of “The Collection” show were donated to Dress For Success San Francisco.  It was a great event and we hope to contribute again next year! 
Goldwell Academy
September 12th & 13th Lacey and Joanna will be attending an Extreme Color Camp at the Goldwell Academy in Santa Monica.  Can’t wait to see the new techniques and trends!

Global Keratin Notice
     There has been much controversy surrounding smoothing treatments and their lasting effects.  Many articles have focused on a treatment called Brazilian Blowout. Originally Brazilian Blowout claimed to be Formaldehyde Free. Studies later showed Brazilian Blowout to contain at least 11% Formaldehyde.
     Gary Patrick Salon chose to carry a product that is truly Formaldehyde Free! The Global Keratin is designed to eliminate frizz and cut your styling time in half.
     For the more resistant client, Gary Patrick Salon offers a stronger formula with only 4% Formaldehyde.
     The Global Keratin Company has always been upfront and honest about the ingredients in their products.  Although studies have not yet been done to monitor the lasting effects of chemicals in smoothing treatments, Formaldehyde is a chemical found in many household products.

Events

Gary Patrick Salon along with the rest of the Oribe Editorial Team joined forces in New York on Tuesday, June 28th.  Their mission, styling hair for Salvatore Ferragamo's first show in the United States.  Ferragamo’s 2012 Resort Collection expressed a strong influence from the 1930s. “There were sinuously draped floor-length gowns, tiers of fringe, wide-legged trousers, and long blazers. Giornetti up-graded marinière stripes, a resort staple, knitting them into white and gold cashmere sweater tops. Yards upon yards of silk, bagfuls of crystal and sequins, and vintage Fred Leighton fine jewels matched the surroundings in screen siren luxe. Giornetti said he was, ‘dreaming about the first work of Salvatore Ferragamo,’ who, he pointed out, began his career in Los Angeles, dressing the stars of his day.” (style.com) The hair complimented the design in an elegant clean bun, expertly executed by the Oribe Team.  Congratulations on a job well done Gary, Jessica, & Joanna!

Feather Extension Pricing:
Due to the extremely high demand of feathers, North America is experiencing a shortage. In turn, pricing and bundling has increased. Please check gpsalon.com for updated pricing.

Online Booking:
Gary Patrick Salon introduced our online booking services over a year ago. We hope you have enjoyed this addition. The service, although convenient, is a bit limited when it comes to the more specialized appointments.

Please take note of the following next time you book online:

1. If you are booking a color appointment with one stylist and your finishing time (haircut or blowdry) with a different stylist, please give us a call or email us so that we may book this for you. There is no option to do this online.
2. If you are booking an appointment for color, your finishing time is selected within that service whether it be a blow dry or a haircut. You do not need to select a separate Haircutting service.
